3/21/2020 0 Comments What to Say? I have been thinking, praying and writing on this post for some time now. I was going to post something several months ago but never did. I started again earlier this week and sat down today and deleted it all. I just do not know what to say. There are moments when life is very overwhelming. To be honest, there are many moments that are overwhelming. But how do we make it? Where do we turn and what is there to say?
Well, we can and must turn to God. We turn to him because he has said a lot that we need to hear. We hear him through reading and hearing his word. During this time, Romans 8 has been very comforting to me and I would like to pass that on to you. Romans 8:31-39 31 What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He did not even spare his own Son but offered him up for us all. How will he not also with him grant us everything? 33 Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies. 34 Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us. 35 Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: Because of you we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. I know that that is a lot of scripture but it is very good for us to read. In all that is going on (and there is something always going on) we need to know that God is not against us but for us. This is made true only for those who are in Jesus. We have been saved and justified by God. We are no longer under condemnation because of our sin. We are right with God because of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus for our sins. In other words, we are right because God made us right through Jesus. He loves us and there is nothing that will ever separate us from his love. NOTHING!!! With everything changing and our lives having been interrupted, it is good to know that God's love is not interrupted. He loves us completely and unchanging. When I become overwhelmed with the things of this world, I must go to God's Word and know of the eternal truths that refocus me on the overwhelming grace of God through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May these truths do as much for you as they have done and are doing for me! It is my prayer that God's mercy and grace be ever present and abounding in you life! To God be all the Glory!!!!!!
